The research of my friend, Carolyn (Huebner) Collins, of South Bend, IN, refers to Nancy (Wathen) Hill on page 25 of her 1999 book, THE WATHEN ANTHOLOGY.

Three children of a mysterious John Wathen all married in Randolph, County, Virginia. They were: Mary (Wathen) Wilson, 1780-1866, who married a John Wilson and remained in the part of Virginia that became West Virginia; Susannah (Wathen) Bussey who married John Bussey and moved to Licking County, Ohio; and this Nancy Wathen, who married John Hill and moved to Washington County, Kentucky.

Some researchers think my ancestor John Baptist Wathen, 1735-1810, a Revolutionary War Soldier, and his wife Henrietta (Riney) Wathen, who left Charles County, Maryland and moved to Montgomery County, Maryland in 1778 and then went to Randolph County, Virgina (now West Virginia) in 1789 and then to land on Cartwright's Creek in Washington County, Kentucky in 1799, and have five proven children, was this John. However there was a John Baptist Wathen and wife Charlotte were also living in Randolph County, Virginia at this time and later moved to Washington County, Kentucky.
