Husband of Sarah E. Reasor, married Dec. 13, 1853, Union Co. KY.
Son of Harrison Holt and Harriet Bellmear-Holt.

From History of Union County, A Complete Account of the Settlement----

"PETER C. HOLT is the son of Harrison and Harriet (Bellmear) Holt; his father, a farmer of Virginia, came to this county at an early day, and settled north of Morganfield, where he died about 1841; his mother, born in Maryland, died in 1870; his paternal ancestors were Virginians, and were among the pioneers of Kentucky; his maternal ancestors were probably from Maryland. Our subject was born in Union County on May 22, 1826; he received some five or six years' training in the commom schools. He married Sarah Reasor, of Union County, on December 13, 1853; she is the daughter of Thomas and Rebecca (Pittenger) Reasor, and was born in Spencer County on April 2, 1837. Twelve children, two of whom are dead, were born to this union. Ally S. married George M. Wallace; James H. married Lucy M. Whitecotton; William Henry married Annie A Lamond. The single children are John T., a clerk in Roser's store at Caseyville; Reuben Lee, Rebecca Ann, Peter F., Lila S., George Washington and Burnett Newton. His children are a confort to him, and the pattern, in many cases, for the children of the country around. He owns one hundred and seventy acres of land on the Bordley and Commercial Point road, in Lindle Precinct. Of this land one hundred and sixty acres is cultivated, and it makes a good farm. During the war Mr. Holt was ordered to Caseyville by Captain Hodge, and put under $2,000 bond. In 1875 he took a trip to the West, and had, as a secondary object, the purchase of lands for his children, but concluded not to buy. In 1883 he made another trip with his wife, through Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Indian Territory; he stayed four weeks and came back with his veins enlarged and broadened, perhaps, but well satisfied to remain where he is. Mr Holt has been a member of the United Baptist Church about twenty-seven years; his wife has been in that communion for thirty-one years. In politics he is a Democrat. He is a steady business man, a thorough Christian, a kind father and popular neighbor."
