William E. "Eddie" Delph, age 90, formerly of Eaton, OH, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013, following an extended illness. Born in Pittsburg, KY, he was a son of the late Arthur & Lena (Byrley) Delph. He was the owner of Delph Contracting from 1962 until retiring in 2000, building homes in the Preble County and Richmond, IN areas. He was a member of the Druids Lodge for many years. Prior to making Florida their permanent residence in 2007, he and wife Dorothy made their home in Lakengren, outside of Eaton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Delph is preceded in death by brother Hobert Lee Delph and sisters Mildred Gentry and Wilma Lucenta.

Survived by wife of nearly 70 years Dorothy Mae (Smith) Delph, whom he married February 13, 1943: daughters & sons-in-law Wilma & Steve Sampson of Dayton, OH; Sandra & Jay Peck of Lake Charles, LA; Gail & Gene Morrison of Port Charlotte; and Melissa & Willie Atwood of Seymour, IN: grandchildren Michael McGriff, Ginger Collins, Cinnamon Duncil, Kim Riley, Ann Marie List, Amanda Atwood, Lee Peck and Matt Peck: 9 great grandchildren: and brother Walter Givens Delph of Dayton.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Friends may call on the family from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
