Viola Lenora Andersen was
born September 17, 1913 on her
parents farm north of Alta,
Iowa. She was one of seventeen
children born to Mr. and Mrs.
Otto N. Andersen.
She attended the Elk Baptist
Church and was baptized into
the membership of the church
as a girl.
She was united in marriage to
Erwin E. Meseck on February
21, 1933. One daughter Gwendolyn
was born to this couple.
The family lived in Storm Lake
for several years before moving
to Newell. Mrs. Meseck joined
the First Baptist Church of
Newell and was an active member
until ill health prevented her
participation in these activities.
Mrs. Meseck has been a life
long resident of Buena Vista
County. She passed away at the
Buena Vista County Hospital on
July 17, 1969. She loved her
family and was a faithful wife
and mother. Her joy in later
years was the opportunity of
sharing life with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Meseck was preceded in
death by her father, Otto Andersen
and two brothers, Leslie
and Kermit.
She is survived by her husband,
Erwin, daughter and son-in-law,
Gwendolyn and Charles Henrich,
four grandchildren, Steven, Le-
Ann, Stanley and Lori Henrich,
her mother, Mrs. Otto Andersen,
now residing at Grandview
Lutheran Home, Des Moines,
nine brothers, Marvin of Alta,
Quinten and Oswald of Aurelia,
Lester of Nevada, Clarence of
Wisconsin, Lennart and Arol of
Illinois, Vincent of California
and Gladwyn of Virginia. Five
sisters also survive, Mrs.Walter Chivers
of Des Moines,
Mrs. Carver Waples and Mrs.
Carl Fuller of California, Mrs.
Kenneth Robinson, Meringo,
Iowa and Mrs. Herman Fischer
of Marcus as well as twelve
neices, seventeen nephews,
thirteen great nieces and nephews.
