Betty Jane Gibbons Brink, age 77, of Florence died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Lauderdale, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, an RSVP volunteer and a retired nurses aide at ECM Hospital.Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Greenview Funeral Home, with a rosary to be said at 7:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Vincent Chembakassery.Her parents, Thomas and Florence Gibbons, and one brother, John David Gibbons, preceded her in death.She is survived by her husband, John William Brink; sons, Tom Brink and wife, Penny, of Huntsville, Ala., Bob Brink and wife, Diana, of Seattle, Wash., James Brink and wife, Susanne, of Florence, Danny Brink and wife, Shauna, of Florence, and Billy Brink of Florence; daughters, Mary Ann Augustin and husband, Arthur, of Shelby, N.C., Dorothy Woods and husband, Benny, of Florence, Sarah McDougal and husband, Ronnie, of Florence, Peggy Wallace and husband, Jimmy, of Florence, Alice Smith and husband, Danny, of Alabaster, Ala.; brother, Robert Gibbons of Florida; sisters, Mary Agnes Pallbearers will be Arthur Augstin, Ronnie McDougal, Jimmy Wallace, Bennie Woods Jr., Joe Brink, Dale Thornton, Danny Smith and John David Geisen.Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Stangel, Paul Blackburn, Mario Rovere, George Brink and Bennie Woods Sr.The families request memorialsmay be made to St. Joseph Catholic School or St. Joseph Catholic Church.Greenview Funeral Home of Florence is directing..
