Alton M. Bennett

Alton M. Bennett, 89, of Charleston, passed away Feb. 8, 2004, in CAMC General Hospital.

Mr. Bennett retired as vice president from Kentucky Lithographing Co. in Louisville, Ky.

He was a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge No. 168, a member of Scottish Rite Bodies, York Rite and Beni Kedem Shrine Temple, Charleston. He was a member of the Order of Kentucky Colonels, Charleston Lions Club and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Charleston. Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by one sister, Vera Simpson of Virginia Beach, Va.

Surviving are his spouse of 64 years, Isabelle S. Bennett; one daughter and son-in-law, Ann B. and John McQuain of Charleston; twin sister, Alta Hoylman of Gassaway, W.Va., and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home, Charleston with the Rev. Scottie Richmond officiating. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes with Masonic graveside rites to be conducted.

Friends may gather from 11 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Shriner's Hospital c/o Beni Kedem Temple, 100 Quarrier St., Charleston, WV 25301.
