BELLEVILLE - Lizzie Mae Yoder, 92, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, died at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the Haven.She was born on Feb. 19, 1920, in Airydale, Huntingdon County, a daughter of the late Henry M. and Annie K. (Peachey) Zook. Her husband, Roy N. Yoder Sr., whom she married on April 1, 1944, preceded her in on Nov. 13, 2004.She was survived by: children, Roy N. Yoder Jr. and wife, Josephine, of McVeytown, Dennis H. Yoder and wife, Sally, of Allensville, and LeAnn S. Yoder, of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Evalena Zook, of Belleville; sister-in-law, Rena Auker, of Mifflintown; brother-in-law, Robert Yoder and wife, Faith, of Grand Junction, Colo.; a very special friend, Margaret Metzler, of Belleville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild.Lizzie was preceded in death by: a daughter, Florence L. Baker; two brothers, John J. Zook and Urie Zook; and a sister, Lydia Yoder.Lizzie was primarily a homemaker. She was a member of Allensville Mennonite Church. She and her husband were part of the church planting team for Allensville Mennonite that helped to begin Otelia Mennonite Church, in Mount Union.She served as a Bible school and Sunday school teacher, as well as a member of the Ladies Sewing Circle. She assisted with the MYF for more than 45 years at Otelia.She was a faithful volunteer at Valley View Haven and with the Belleville Mennonite School sale. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, tending to her vegetable garden and putting food up for the winter. Most of all Lizzie enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.A memorial service will be held in her memory at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Allensville Mennonite Church, with Pastors Ivan Yoder, Dewayn Isaac and Gerald Peachey officiating. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Allensville Mennonite Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at the Henderson Funeral Home, in Belleville.Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Valley View Haven, 4702 E.
