MARY LOUISA ANDERSON MOSS, daughter of Nelson Frederick Anderson and Mary Minerva Massey Anderson, was born October 25, 1866, in Montgomery County, Illinois. She moved with her birth family to Crawford County, Arkansas, as a child.

Mary married John A. Moss on August 22, 1883, in Crawford County, Arkansas. They were the parents of seven children: (1) Eva (Evie) Arizona Moss Nunley, 1885-1967, (2) Fanny Moss Shirey, 1886-1911, (3) Jefferson Davis Moss, 1889-1969, (4) Sarah E. Moss Parker, 1894-1970, (5) Jess Lee Moss, 1897-1966, (6) Della R. Moss Dobbs, 1901-1991, and Maud Moss, born 1904.

Mary died of cancer near Whitefield, Haskell County, Oklahoma, about 1912. She was buried in the Old Panther Cemetery in Haskell County in an unmarked grave.
