OMAHA - Lori S. (Shiers) Allen, 53, of Omaha died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heafey-Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak & Cutler Funeral Home in Omaha. Additional funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Faith United Church in Gibbon with the Revs. Cathy Cole and Barb Spangler officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. Heafey-Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak & Cutler of Omaha and O'Brien Straatmann Redinger - Miller Godberson Chapel of Gibbon is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Oct. 10, 1959, in Lexington to Arthur and Marilyn (Ladwig) Shiers.
Survivors include her father, Arthur Shiers and his wife, Jaci, of Lincoln; brothers, Alan Shiers of Lincoln and Scot Shiers of Redondo Beach, Calif.; aunts and uncles, Edith Brill and "Bucky" Shiers of Gibbon, Marilyn Kraft of Heartwell, Ron and Leah Shiers of Terra Bella, Calif., Loren and Joyce Shiers of Ames, Iowa, and Marilyn Ladwig of Lexington; niece, Becky Vrbka and her husband, Jake, of Malcolm; and grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
At the time of her death, she was working in Omaha for First Data as an application architect. She will be greatly missed by her surviving family members, friends and co-workers of First Data.
She was preceded in death by her mother; grandparents, Margaret and Floyd Shiers and Rita and Millard Ladwig; aunt, Diane Scott; uncles, Alvin Shiers, Bill Ladwig, Ron Scott, Chuck Kraft and Frank Brill; and grandnephew, Carter Vrbka.
