An Army veteran, he was a former employee of the Indiana State Highway Department and was a former member of the Jonesboro police department. Mr. Lash had also owned and operated Lash's Restaurant in Marion. He was a member of the Jonesboro American Legion and a Life member of the VFW, Gas City.
He is survived by his wife, Lena; two sons, William, with the U.S. Navy in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Ronald, LaPuente, Calif.; one brother, Wesley, Knox, Ind.; four sisters, Cloella Heffelfinger, Huntington, Ida Colburn, Bluffton, Augusta Rich, Huntington, and Catherine Arivett, Huntington; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Apostolic Friends Church, Jonesboro, with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Jay-Swift & Storey Funeral Home, 400 E. Main St., Gas City.
