W.N. Harding, Manufacturer Passes

William N. Harding, 59, founder of the Elyria Brass and Bronze company and president of that company for more than 20 years, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday at his home at 349 Oxford avenue.

Death was reported due to heart disease from which he had been suffering for the last three years. He had been confined to his home for the last three weeks.

Mr. Harding, who was born in Olmsted Falls on September 13, 1880, had lived in Elyria for 40 years. He founded the Elyria Brass and Bronze company in 1917 and was its president until his retirement two years ago. Since that time his two sons, Lester W. and Robert J. Harding, have been conducting the business.

Mr. Harding was a member of the Church of Christ, a thirty-second degree Mason, and a member of the Frank S. Harmon Masonic Lodge, of the Knights Templars, of Al Koran Shrine of Cleveland, and of the Elyria Rotary club.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Stella A. Harding; two sons; a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Wehmhoff, all of Elyria, and three grandchldren. Other survivors include three brothers, Frank Harding of Elyria; O.T. Harding of Willoughby, and Vern Harding of Olmsted Falls, and a sister, Mrs. Harry Anthony of North Olmsted.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Sudro-Curtis Funeral Home, with the Rev. WIll J. Foster, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. A Masonic funeral service will be conducted by the Frank S. Harmon lodge. Burial will be at the Fields Corners Cemetery.
