Sarah went home to Jesus on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 6:45 pm at the New Iberia Manor South Nursing Home. She was 86 and a retired secretary and bookkeeper. She was a native of Nelson Bend and a resident of Gonzales. She was also a member of the New River Baptist Church where she worked and served for nearly 45 years. Visiting will be at New River Baptist Church, St. Amant on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 9 am until funeral services at noon. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. She is survived by her two daughters, Margaret E. Lambert Michel and husband, Wayne of Prairieville and Carolyn Lambert White and husband, Samuel of Erath; a son, John David Lambert and wife, Grenda of Poplarville, MS; three brothers, Robert Joyner and wife, Marjorie of West Monroe, Charles H. Joyner and wife, Sharon of Vicksburg, MS, and James L. Joyner and wife, Virginia of CoCo Beach FL; eleven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey D. Lambert; parents, Robert Caley Joyner and Ethel Newberry Joyner Smith; step father, Virgil Smith; and a son, Ronald Edward Lambert. Pallbearers will be Eual LaFleur, Ashley Lambert, Sam White Jr., Kevin Michel, Wayne Michel, Justin Farmer, Samuel White, Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Leger, Shad Sona, and Martin Stoute.
