Floyd Thomas Harvey, 93, of Celina, formerly of Whitney, passed away February 22, 2015 in Celina. He was born January 10, 1922 in Dallas, the son of John T. and Florence (Jennings) Harvey.

He attended Texas Tech University. During WWII, he served his country in the United States Army Air Corps where he trained pilots for combat in Europe and Japan. He also served in the OSI in the Philippines and Washington. Floyd retired in 1964 as Lt. Col.

After retirement, he served as Mayor of Universal City, Texas. In 1966 he went to work for United Airlines, training pilots. In later years, he worked for McDonald Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, California until he retired in 1975 and relocated to Whitney.

He was a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Whitney for thirty years before transferring his membership to First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, the church where he was baptized as a child.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife of 66 years, Mary Francis McClung who passed away in 2006.

Funeral services will be held February 27, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Burial with full military honors will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro.
