Philadelphia Inquirer (Philadelphia, PA) 18 Dec 1913 BALTIMORE SOCIETY MAN IS FOUND DEATH FROM GAS - Lawyer Ends Life in Room of Athletic Club - BALTIMORE, MD., Dec 17 - Yates Pennington, lawyer, society man and former member of the Board of Police Examiners, committed suicide by inhaling gas in his room at the Baltimore Athletic Club this afternoon.
Mr. Pennington is survived by his widow and two children, Genevieve and Yates, Jr. The couple separated about 3 years ago.
Mr. Pennington was 43 years old. he was a member of the club in which he was found dead, of the Maryland Club and of the Elkridge Hunt Club.
About 2 years ago he suffered a serious illness. Since that time his friends say, he had not been in good health.
