Graveside services for Benjamin Arthur Bowers, 70, a truck driver, who died Sunday, February 3, 2013, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Old Dublin Cemetery with Military Honors and Rev. Russell White officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2013, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Benjamin was born in Ipswich, South Dakota on January 19, 1943, to Arthur W. and Velma (Davies) Bowers. He married Irene Barnett on December 30, 1994, in Stephenville, Texas. He was a Navy veteran serving during the Cuban Conflict and was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Bowers of Stephenville; two daughters, Tammie Collins and husband, Jerry, of Stephenville, and Kathy Bailey of Stephenville; two sons, Joseph Bowers and wife, Melissa, of Louisville, Kentucky, and Shane Bowers and wife, Jessica, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren, Joe Bowers, Lindsey Bowers, Shane Scott Ayle Bowers, Colten Day, Nicole Osborne, Chasity Bailey, Chance Bailey, and Christine Bailey; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amanda Osborne.
