EDWARD KOSTKA

Edward Kostka, b.04 Sep 1902, d.06 Nov 1922/Son of Frank Joseph and
Mary (Stangel) Kostka
OBITUARY -The Kewaunee Enterprise, Kewaunee Wis.
Dies Monday Morning at Home of His Mother at Krok
Had Been Employed in Factory at Two Rivers
A little over a year ago the Grim Reaper took the husband and father
from the family of Mrs. Mary Kostka in West Kewaunee and left the home
desolate with the wife and four sons to struggle on alone. On Monday
morning at 5:30 o'clock death again entered the home and claimed Edward,
the third of the family, after an illness of only one week with blood
poisoning. The young man, only twenty years of age, was crippled from
the same disease when a young lad and had a deformed leg. A week ago an
infection started in his left arm and although everything was done to
spare his young life, he died suffering the most intense pain and death
was a relief to him as well as to those who had to witness his
suffering.
Edward Kostka was born on a farm near Tisch mills on Sept. 4, 1902 and
was in his twenty-first year. He had been employed by the Aluminum
Goods Company at Two Rivers off and on for about a year and until he
was taken sick. His health was never of the best and with his disability,
made it impossible for him to keep at work steadily.
Surviving the deceased are his mother and three brothers, Frank of this
city and Joseph and Daniel at home besides numerous other relatives.
The funeral took place Wednesday from the late home at Krok and services
were conducted at St. Mary's Catholic church at Tisch Mills, Rev.
Shimek officiating and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery
there besides those of his late father.
A large number of relatives and friends followed the body to its last
resting place. The sympathy of the community goes out to this family in
their great sorrow.
