Ruth E. Schaffer
Ruth Elizabeth Schaffer, 89, Corydon, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Sept. 21, 1923, in Corydon, she was the daughter of the late Talmage Dewitt and Zelma Mae Askren Schaffer.
She was retired from Tyson Foods in Corydon and was a member of Community of Hope Church of the Nazarene in Corydon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Oren and Loren Schaffer, and a sister, Viola Long.
Survivors include a brother, Clifford R. Schaffer of Hattiesburg, Miss., and a sister, Dorothy J. Schaffer of Corydon.
Visitation: Friday, Feb. 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 9, after 11 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Heidelberg Cemetery near Corydon.
Pallbearers: Randy Schaffer, Robert Metcalf, Jeff Rush, P.J. and Sammy Chumley and Randy Morgan.
Officiants: The Revs. Scott Olson and Chuck Morgan.
The family suggests memorial gifts to her church.
