Carlton Marvin Young, 91, of Plainview died on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in Plainview. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Gabe Moudy officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, February 8, 2013 at the funeral home.
Carlton was born December 13, 1921 in Merlins, Texas to T.Y. and Pearl House Young. He married Bessie Mae Wylie on April 5, 1947. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2002.
He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Brain & husband Steve of Plainview and Linda Millette and husband Rick of Vermillion, SD; one son, Marvin Young and wife Sharon of Hereford; three brothers, Billy Tom Young of Plainview, Mearl Young of Shawnee, OK and Earl Young of Friona; one sister, Audrey Mahagan of Claytonville, eleven grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
