Melva Johnson 88 of Oskaloosa and formerly of Barnes City passed away Thursday morning at the NMNR Center in Oskaloosa. Interment will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma, Iowa.
Melva Bernice Johnson was the daughter of Cecil and Bernice Simpson Harry. She graduated from Barnes City High School.
Melva was united in marriage to Kenneth Johnson. She taught music for a few years before becoming a farmer's wife. Melva lived in the Barnes City area most of her life, until she moved to the nursing home in 2005. She loved her cat, Ruby.
Melva was a member of the Barnes City United Methodist Church and the Montezuma United Methodist Church.
