Christine Grace Cross of Hayti, born November 12, 1922 in Pemiscot County near Caruthersville. She passed away on January 26, 2013 at the Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, she was 90 years, 2 months and 14 days of age.
She was an inspector at The Hayti Garment Factory for several years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hayti.
She was united in marriage to James (Mutt) Cross October 29, 1938. He preceded her in death in May 1, 1906(2006). She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Cross, her parents John and Trummie New Treece, brother, Harry, Samuel, Daniel, Hoshea and Amos, sisters, Ina, Norma, Edna.
She loved to talk to friends and family on the telephone.
She leaves the following to cherish her memory, son, Vernon Ray Cross of Cape Girardeau, three grandchildren, Todd Luster and wife Lucy of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Nicole Crosnoe and husband Rex of Cape Girardeau, Joshua Cross of Albalmarle, North Carolina, three great grandchildren, Cooper, Gunner and Carter Crosnoe of Cape Girardeau, two sisters, Marceela Swettie Cross and husband Mack of Portageville, Helen Worley of Hot Springs, Ark. and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Bro. Doug Wahls officiating. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.
Pallbearers were James Brimhall, Danny Stevens, Jim Bo Brimhall, Dennis Hounihan, Ricky Laster and Larry Cowgill.
