Carl "Jack" "XX45" Jackson Fowler, 80, of Buchanan, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moffitt "Buck" Sr. and Edith Fowler; the love of his life, his wife, Daisy Marie Crouch Fowler; brother, Moffitt O. Fowler Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn F. and Bill Brown; and special friend, Sydney Tolley. Jack was an Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War, a member of the VFW, and a member of American Legion Post 93. A lifetime member of the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department, he served as Assistant Chief. He was co-owner of Robertson-Fowler Construction Co. for over 69 years.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelly Dampeer and the Rev. Marina Gopadze officiating. Interment will follow Fairview Cemetery. Those wishing to make a contribution, please consider the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department or the Buchanan Volunteer Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan, 540-254-3000. Arrangements by Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan.
