NEWPORT: Carrie R. Doyle, 91, of Newport, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Harrisburg Hospital. She was born February 27, 1921 to Joseph and Emma (Wagner) Wright. She had worked at the former skating rink in Millerstown and drove school bus for the Newport School District. She was a member of the Newport Legion #177 Ladies Auxiliary and loved bird watching and bowling.
Carrie was the widow of John L. Doyle and is survived by her daughter, Nancy Ann Campbell of Shermans Dale, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Marge Dorman, Jen Sheaffer, Bessie Smith and Mary Kuhn, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to services on Monday from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with a viewing from 11 AM until the funeral service at 12 PM. The Reverend Cheryl Dorman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Newport Ambulance League, 50 South Third Street, Newport 17074 or Newport Fire Co., Mulberry Street, Newport 17074.
