Daughter of Theodore & Kathryn Cremers.
She received her elementary education at Holy Family School in Lindsay. She entered the Holy Family Convent and finished her high school and college education in Manitowoc.
She started her religious life as a first grade teacher in Appleton, Wis. During her 25 years of teaching, she taught the primary grades and later served as a high school librarian. After leaving the classroom, she worked in the Registrar's office and served as Registrar for Silver Lake College for 30 years. Upon retirement, she provided pastoral care at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. She later moved back to Holy Family Convent and continued her pastoral care for her fellow sisters.
She celebrated her 75th Silver Jubilee at the Holy Family Convent on May 30, 2004.

Sister Mary Doris Cremers, age 94, a member of The Franciscan Sisters of
Christian Charity, died Thursday evening, Feb. 10, 2005, at Holy Family
Convent, Manitowoc.
The former Mary Cremers was born Jan. 2, 1911, in Lindsay, Neb.,
daughter of the late Theodore and Catherine Schad Cremers. She entered
the convent in 1926 and professed her vows in 1929. Sister Mary Doris
earned a Bachelo of Arts degree from St. Nobert College, De Pere. Sister
Mary Doris served as an elementary teacher at Holy Rosary, Kewaunee; St.
Patrick, Maple Grove; St. Therese, Appleton, St. John the Baptist,
Seymour, St. Rose, Clintonville, all of Wisconsin; and St. Nicholas,
Zanesville, Ohio. She also served as the registrar at Holy Family
College, Manitowoc; secretary at Silver Lake College, Manitowoc;
librarian and secretary at Catholic Memorial High School, Waukesha;
secretary and visitor of the sick at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, West
Point, Neb. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1994 and has been a
resident of St. Rita Health Center since 2001. She is a member of the
Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include: The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity and a
sister-in-law, Charlotte Cremers, Columbus, Neb. Also surviving are
niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Convent,
Manitowoc, from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, where a prayer
service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc.
Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Samuel D.
Jadin, O.Praem with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is
assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
