Kathleen B. Ferguson, 91, of Richland Center passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Harvest Guest Home. She was born March 5, 1925, the daughter of James "Bernie" Brewer and Violet (Young) Brewer. Kathleen grew up on the family farm near Ithaca. In 1943 she graduated from Ithaca High School. Kathleen attended Madison General Hospital, enrolling in the School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1947 as a Registered Nurse. She was a Registered Nurse at the Richland Hospital for nearly 30 years.
Kathleen met Glenn L. Ferguson and were married in 1948. The couple had 3 children and were married for nearly 60 years, until Glenn's death in 2008.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; James B. Brewer and Violet (Young) Brewer, husband Glenn, son Van, sister Agnes Hazlett, brother Tom (Erelyn) Brewer, baby brother Jimmy, sister-in-law Shirley (Smith) Brewer, and brother-in-law Clarence "Bronc" Olson.
Kathleen loved spending time with her family and pets, writing poetry, doing word puzzles, needle work and watching Wheel of Fortune. She was a member of Park Street Christian Church. After retirement from the Richland Hospital she enjoyed volunteering in the community including the Red Cross, the Family Thrift Shop, the United Way, and others.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at 4:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be held at the Richland Center Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Sunday, January 1, 2017 from 2:00 PM until the time of the service at 4:00 PM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
