Eldest of three children born in Kansas City to Clem H and Matilda Meisman Stroot. Her younger brothers are Harold Stroot(b1924-d2013) of Quincy, and Dr Jerome H Stroot(b1926-d1995). Since she never married nor had her own children, she was known as 'Aunt' Verona. Sacrificing her own educational and career aspirations, she devoted her loving attention, assistance and mentorship to her brothers' children(ten nephews and nieces) over the years; thusly she was an integral part of the Stroot family spanning the country from the Mississippi to the West Coast. She was a brilliant and talented lady, particularly in mathematics and music; of which she taught in the high school setting as her main profession.(submitted by one of her loving nephews)
