Eric Rudolph Lindquist, Jr., 79, passed away September 6, 2012 in Alice. He was born September 10, 1932 in Premont, Texas to Omie and Eric R. Lindquist, Sr. He was a retired driller for Flournoy Drilling Co. and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Eric was Santa for Half Hour Photo for several years and collected glass bottles made by Three Rivers Glass Co. He always carried candy and was known as the candy man by all the children.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Lindquist of Alice; three sons, Eric (Rosie) Lindquist, III of Alice, Bobby (Sarah) Lindquist of Spring and Bryan Lindquist of Houston; two brothers, Joe Larry (Carol) Lindquist of Sandia and Richard Lindquist of Austin; two sisters, Carolyn (Kenneth) Bently of Huffman and Della Fay Lindquist of Premont; two grandchildren, Christian Lindquist and Joseph (Ty) Lindquist all of Spring and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 10th at Holmgreen Mortuary with the family present from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Alice Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to South Texas Childrens Home, American Heart Assn. or a charity of your choice.
