Melissa Ann Fitzgerald Smith 96 died February 25, 1982 in Sandy, Utah.
Born on October 30, 1885 in Draper, Utah to Manassah and Melissa Ann Smith Fitzgerald.
Married Joseph Lauritz Smith on November 28, 1906 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died on July 8, 1941.
An active member of the LDS Church, she served as Primary teacher, counselor in Relief Society, a visiting teacher of over 65 years and other church callings.
In her later years she would recite at many social gatherings, the poems and recitations she memorized in her spare time. She was an active member of Ebenezer Brown Camp of Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Survivors: Sons, Joseph Ralph Smith, Arnold Fitzgerald Smith both of Draper; daughters, June Baker, Draper; Mrs. Fitz (Ruth)Barthel, Murray; Erma Miller, South Jordan; Mrs. Wilmer (Wanda) Mecham, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Kenneth (Verla) Wanberg, Midvale; Ms. Oliver K. (Reva) Norris, Sandy. 46 grandchildren; 124 great-grandchildren; 48 great-great-grandchildren; brother Alva Fitzgerald, Provo. Preceded in death by husband and daughter Celestia Ann.
Services Monday, 11 a.m. March 1, 1982, Draper Second/Tenth Ward 1617 East 12700 So. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Sunday 6-8 p.m. and at the Ward Chapel, one hour prior to service. Burial, Draper City Cemetery.

This is my dad's oldest brothers wife. Aunt Lissie as all of us kids called her loved her. She was a very sweet lady and always kind and helpful.
