Reatha Rutledge Jones, 88, of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord Friday, January 23, 2015 at Shannondale of Knoxville.
A native of Hawkins County, she was the daughter of the late Vance Edward and Ethel Mayo Rutledge. Reatha grew up attending Elm Springs United Methodist Church, but was currently a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She loved gospel music, gardening, quilting and sewing. Reatha was retired after twenty years of service as an LPN with Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde R. Jones; daughter, Marlene Peters; and three brothers, Henry, Dorman and Alvin Rutledge.
Reatha is survived by her son, Mark Jones; son-in-law, Roger Peters; grandchildren, Patricia Pierson, Laura Reilly and Andrew Jones; a brother, Everett Rutledge and wife Betty Jo; three great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Doris Rutledge. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will greet guests and share memories from 5 - 7 pm Monday, January 26, 2015 at Oak Hill Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel at 7 pm with Pastor Wayne Baker, officiating.
A Committal Service will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
Everyone is asked to meet the family at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30 am.
