Leoda Bowling, 71, of Rt. 1, Robbins, passed away Thursday morning, September 18, at the Scott County Hospital. He was the son of the late Berry Bowling and the late Nancy Gibson Bowling and was preceded in death by one sister, Maniodia Wilson; and one half-brother, Odell Bowling. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Robbins. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Henry Bowling of Robbins; two daughters: Ellen Harvey of Robbins and Norma Jean Brahham of Harriman; one son, Milford Odie Bowling of Robbins; two sisters: Oma Holloway of Lake Milton, O., and Ona Monroe of Harriman; two brothers: Obie Bowling of Capital Hill, and Obis Bowling of Robbins; one granddaughter, Pamela Lee Overton of Robbins; two grandsons: Henry Leoda Harvey and Albert Harrison Harvey, both of Robbins; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 21, at 10 a.m. at the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Lee Sexton and Rev. Carl Jeffers officiating. The Willie Smithers Family Singers sang. Burial followed in the Sexton Cemetery in the Slick Rock community. Pallbearers were: Bobby Byrge, Jack Gibson, Chester Honeycutt, Dexter Lawson, Melvin Rich, and Gerald Robbins. West-Murley Funeral Home of Scott County in charge of arrangements.
