ANNA BECK passed away in her home in Spring Valley Lake Wednesday, Jan 30. She is now absent from her body and present with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in Heaven. Anna Mae Beck was born as Anna Mae Riggs, August 1, 1944 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was the first born child of Bill and Alta Riggs. The family moved to Barstow in 1952. Anna graduated from Barstow High School in 1962. Anna worked a few years at the Contel Telephone Company in Barstow. She met the love of her life, and was married to Lew Beck on August 1, her birthday, 1965. Then after helping her husband get his business established, she enjoyed staying home being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Anna was especially generous to her family. Anna helped her husband, Lew of 47 years build his State Farm business. They had two sons, Baron Reese born 12/19/65 and Jason Lamar born 10/16/68. Anna also had a step daughter , Lisa Berg, from her husband's previous marriage. She enjoyed traveling with her family and the pleasure of her two children, 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She loved running errands for her grandchildren and just spending time with them, going out to eat and traveling with them. Anna is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lew Beck, her father, William Riggs, her mother, Alta Compton, and her son Baron. Anna is survived by her son, Jason Beck, sister Rita Wilcox, granddaughter, Krystal Beck and Grandson, Nick Beck and many extended family members. Family and faith were very important and has always been central to her life. Anna attended First Assembly Church where she worshipped her Lord and Savior. She loved going to Bible studies and serving others. Anna gave generously to Christian ministries throughout the United States and the world. Her heart was constantly called to give as she saw need, local and abroad. She will be deeply missed by her entire family which includes her children, grandchildren, sister, sisters in law and brothers in law and many nieces and nephews, too many to mention. A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Desert View Funeral Home and Memorial Park 11500 Amargosa Road, Victorville. Published in the Daily Press on February 6, 2013.
