Mildred Lacy Rhodes, age 84 of Griffin, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Brightmoor Nursing Center. Mrs. Rhodes was born on March 7, 1928 in Griffin, Georgia to the late Newton Lacy, Sr. and Lillie Shaw Lacy. Mrs. Rhodes worked for many years as a unit secretary at Spalding County Hospital and an additional 15 years as receptionist at the Spalding County Courthouse, where she retired in 1996. She was an avid gardener and reader.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Newton Lacy, Jr. and two husbands, James Gatlin and Ted Rhodes. Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Jones; granddaughter, Heidi (Kevin) Hildreth; and two great-grandchildren, Tristan and Stella Hildreth, all of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
