Barbara A. May of East Liverpool, OH passed away at Heritage Valley Health Systems in Beaver, PA on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, after suddenly becoming ill. She was born in Sharon, PA on July 25, 1937, the daughter of the late James and Esther Bitzer Halt.

Living most of her life in the area, Barb was a homemaker, a wife mother and grandmother. She was the Hostess at the Hospitality Center of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes, a member of the East Liverpool Alumni Association, Crazy Ace's Card Club, a former member of the Lady Elks and a member of First United Methodist Church. Barb was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Her husband, George "Pat" May of 55 years, survives her at home. They were married August 4, 1957. Three sons, Mark May and his wife Tammy of East Liverpool, OH, James May and his wife Sharon of East Liverpool, OH and Donald May and his wife Christina of Perris, CA; a step daughter, Peggy Pierson and her husband, Allen of East Liverpool, OH; 9 grandchildren, Jill Riccardo and her husband Jim of East Liverpool, OH, Jodi Hughes and her husband Shawn of Toronto, OH, Juli Holstein and her husband, Dave of Galloway, OH, Brian May and his wife, Kiley of Wellsville, OH, Jessica Lynch and her husband Ryan of East Liverpool, OH, Leann May and Katey May, both of East Liverpool, OH and Erika May and Nathan May, both of Perris, CA; six great-grandchildren, Jenna, Leah and Jace Riccardo of East Liverpool, OH, Brock and Drew Hughes of Toronto, OH and David Holstein of Galloway, OH survive her.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dale Sutton of the church, officiating.

Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Friday, February 8, 2013 from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 West Fifth Street, East Liverpool, Ohio 43920.
