day at the hospital in Pecos.

Mr. Bates was born July 23, 1915, in Gordon.
He moved to Odessa in 1938 from Gordon.
He was employed with Tripp Construction
in Odessa. He married Evelyn Walker on
March 25, 1941, in Palo Pinto. He was a mem-
ber of Chapel Hill Baptist Church and Odessa
Senior Citizens Club.
