Fletcher D. Kennedy, aged 53,
died at his home in the D.W.
Shearer Annex, Tuesday evening
at 9 o'clock of a complication
of diseases, after an illness
of a weeks duration.
Deceased was born at Powersburg
and moved here some 15
years ago. In early life he was
married to Miss Sarah Davis a
sister to Atty. J. C. Davis, of
this city.
Deceased was City Marshall
here for several years, for the
past few months he has been
running a grocery store and restaurant
on Columbia street.
Deceased was a good, kind
hearted man who numbered his
friends by his acquaintances.
He is survived by his widow and
six children.
The funeral services were held
at the residence by Rev. W. F.
Hogard after which the remains
were taken to the Alexander
Cemetery for burial.
