Betty graduated from St. Peters Hospital School of Nursing in Olympia, WA. On December 16, 1948, she married the love of her life, Robert B. Alexander in Aberdeen, WA. After Robert was discharged from the military, they moved to Colorado Springs where Robert became a journeyman bricklayer and Betty worked as an RN. In 1974 the Alexander family moved to the family farm near Woodrow.
While living in the Woodrow community, Betty attended the Howard United Methodist Church. Robert died in 1996.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Michael Alexander of Woodrow and Daniel Alexander of Union City, CA; 3 grandchildren, Many Colburn of Fort Morgan, Jill Duffy of Castle Rock, and Cameron Alexander of Brush; and 5 great grandchildren, Kiana, Ouray, Travis, Shae, and McKenna.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 8, 2013, at 11:00 AM at the All Saints Lutheran Church at Eben Ezer. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush on Thursday from 5 - 7 PM. Family is asking in lieu of flowers that memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association c/o the Heer Mortuaries.
