He was born March 15, 1954 in Decatur, son of Marion F. and Dorothy M. Riley Gardner. He married Paula Richardson. He later married Jane Eldridge.
He is survived by his parents; children, Tina (John) Martin and Stefanie Gardner; grandchildren, Patricia Mobley and William Mobley; great-grandchild, Riley Mobley; sister, Ginny (Stephen) Mobley and brother, Chris Gardner.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
