Salt Lake Tribune, The (UT) - March 2, 1997. Deceased Name: Delia Staley Nowers. BEAVER--Delia Saley Nowers, 90, died February 28, 1997 in the Long Term Care Center of the Beaver Valley Hospital, Beaver Utah. Delia was born February 6, 1907 in Scofield, Carbon County, Utah to John C. and Amy Pitman Staley. She married Seldon Nowers January 23, 1923 in Provo, Utah and their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS St. George Temple in October, 1983. Delia was a member of the LDS Church were she held positions in the Primary and Relief Society. She was a member of the DUP and the BPW. She worked at Arshel's Cafe and the Dairy Freeze for Verl Patterson. As a young girl, Delia loved to ride horses and she had her own pony named Star. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother. She was an excellent cook and her hobbies were crocheting, tatting and quilting. She took a lot of pride in her home and loved to raise flowers in her yard. All her grandchildren loved to go see her and she made each one feel special. She had a lot of good friends.

She is the mother of six children, Eileene (Bruce) Osborn of Cedar City; Gerald (Jackie) Nowers; S.K. (Bonnie) Nowers, Margaret (Abe) Boyle, all of Beaver; Bob (Laura) Nowers of Richfield; Helen (Carlyle) Rollins of Vernal. She raised a granddaughter, Peggy (Paul) Mecham of Morgan. She had 29 grand, 70 great-grand and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years; four sisters, Agnes Scilltide, Amy Helston, Sarah Donaldson, and Edna Davis; one brother, John Staley. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 1997, at 1 p.m. in the Beaver LDS 2nd Ward Chapel. Friends may show their respects Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Olpin Mortuary, and Tuesday at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, directed by Olpin Mortuary.
