Mary Carruth Bagwell, 95, of Landrum passed away on July 14, 2015. She was the daughter of the late John James and Mattie Williams Carruth and widow of Joseph Leonard Bagwell, Sr.

She was a school teacher for 35 years and was a member of Landrum First Baptist Church since she was 12 years old and taught Sunday School for over 50 years.

She is survived by a son Leonard Bagwell and wife Dianne of Columbia; two daughters, Anne Bagwell of Columbia and Gracie Bagwell of Landrum; a grandson, Brent Bagwell and wife Amy and a great grandson, Charlie of Charlotte.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Jack Carruth and Leroy G. "Fat" Carruth.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am-12:00pm Friday, July 17, 2015 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12:00pm at the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Mark Bishop. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
