DEBBIE LOU DIXON, age 92, a resident of Irving for 48 years, died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Baylor Medical Center at Irving. Born January 7, 1920 in Greenville, Texas, she was the daughter of Samuel Noah Mays and Emma Starkey Mays. On January 3, 1942, she married General Franklin Dixon in Greenville. Debbie was a member of First Baptist Church of Irving. Preceded in death by her husband on March 31, 1975; her brothers, Justin, James, Bill, George, Sam and Erdman; and sisters, Clara Bell, Juanita, Lois, Merle, and Imo Gene Fowler, she is survived by her son, David Dixon and wife Mary Kay of Irving; grandsons, Jeremy Dixon and wife Kari of Katy, Texas, and Jared Dixon of Irving; brothers, Laura Mays and wife Billie of Irving, and Lee Mays of Blue Ridge, Texas; and sister, Grace Church of Athens, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The funeral service is 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12 at First Baptist Church in Irving with Pastor John Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Homebound Ministry, 403 South Main Street, Irving, Texas 75060.
