Anderson - Lester Porter Layton, 95, Anderson, died July 5, 2010 at Manor Care Facility, Anderson after extended illness. He was born April 6, 1915 in Madison County, the son of Jasper Newton Layton and Estella Hiday Layton. He married Dorothy May Hendrickson on December 31, 1935, in Anderson. Lester was a great story teller. He entertained everyone. His imagination was great. He is missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Estella Layton Wills; grandchildren, Tanya Bradley, Kevin N. Dearing and Darin N. Layton; great grandchildren, Rachel Layton, Terry Lee Wills and Estella Nichole Wills; great-great grandchildren, LaBron Samuel Wills and Christopher Lee Wills, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his his wife, Dorothy; his parents; to sons, Lester Eugene Layton & Francis "Butch" Layton; brothers, Jasper Dahmert Layton & Ernest K. Layton; sisters, Lucile Brooks, Delphia Layton & Ida Layton; and a grandaughter, Darla Layton Horne.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Robert D. LooseFuneral Home, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, IN. Services will be Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11:30 AM, at at the funeral home, with Pastor Clyde Denny officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson .
