Mr. Billy Wayne Abernathy, 47, of Florence, died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at ECM Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Lauderdale County and was employed by Southwire.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. March 25, 2006, at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2006, in Greenview Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Officiating will be the Rev. Audie Bogus.
Mr. Abernathy was preceded in death by his father, W.D. "Donnie" Abernathy; brother, Johnny Abernathy; and his father-in-law, James W. Wynn Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Glinda Eagerton Abernathy, of Florence; two sons, Joey Abernathy and Nathaniel Sims; three brothers, William (Sharyon) Abernathy, Jimmy (Donna) Abernathy and Paul Abernathy, all of Florence; sister, Carol (Barry) Underwood, of Trussville; mother-in-law, Iretha Wynn; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Donald Wynn, Mark Eagerton, Mike Eagerton, Jim Wynn, Ricky Eagerton and Chip Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will include cousins and employees of Southwire.
