He was born in Oklahoma City and moved to Oregon in the early 1940s. He lived in Gervais for 37 years, working in food processing, agriculture and the family business.
He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Lutheran Church in Lincoln City.
A grandson preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Norma, whom he married in 1951; sons, Jim and Craig, both of Gervais; brother, Don of Gervais, and two grandchildren.
Visiting will be noon to 8 p.m. Monday with services at 1 p.m Tuesday at City View Funeral Home. Private interment will be in Mount Crest Abbey Mausoleum.
