Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Gero, 86, widow of George Gero and former resident of New Haven, were held at New Haven Methodist Episcopal church Wednesday . Mrs. Gero died Sunday at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Earl T. McNabb, and Mr. McNabb, Throop Station, Cayuga Co. Born in Palermo, daughter of the late Betsy and Solomon Wiltsie, Mrs. Gero spent many years in the Tollgate district of the town of New Haven. She was a member of New Haven Methodist church and its
Ladies' Aid society. She had made her home with Mrs. McNabb in Onondaga and Cayuga counties for the past 17 years. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elida J. Lee, Oswego and several grandchildren, including Mrs. McNabb, George A. Lee of New Haven; Hubert R. Lee, Old Forge, and Miss Frances R. Lee, Oswego. There are also two great-grandsons. Earl Murten McNabb and Burten E. McNabb of Throop Station. A son, Murten Gero, died in 1907. Prayer services were held at the McNabb home Wednesday, Rev. George N. Gates of Sennett Federated church in charge. Mr. Gates also officiated at the New Haven services, with the Rev. Jones, pastor of the church, assisting. Burial was in New Haven cemetery with grandsons acting as bearers.
