He was born in Old Carpentersville on November 14, 1933 and was the son of the late John & Eva (nee Loechelt) Latina.
Joe was a lifelong resident of the area and a very proud United States Army veteran who served at the Panama Canal. Prior to retirement, Joe was a loyal and valued employee of Haeger Pottery in East Dundee for 44 years. On January 15, 1955 he married the love of his life and best friend Betty J. Toppel. Betty preceded Joe in death on August 9, 1986 after 31 years of marriage.
He is survived by his daughter; Barbara (Jose') Loredo and his grandchildren; Jose' (Amber) and Miguel (Ashley) Loredo and Christina (Rene) Campos. His great grandchildren; Mireya, Antonio, Emma, Teuvo, Marisol, Jaxon and Jameson. Other survivors include his brother; Charles (Gloria) Latina and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents and his beloved wife; Betty, Joe was preceded in death by his great grandson; Alejandro and his brother; John Latina.
Visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 12:00 Noon. The Rev. J. Robert Camacho will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Associaiton.
