Marion Francis (Barber) Warner, 98, of Windsor, wife of the late Harold R. Warner Jr., died peacefully on Tuesday, (March 20, 2012), at Hartford Hospital.

She was born on January 7, 1914, in Scantic, CT, daughter of the late Howard Francis and Harriett (Osborne) Barber. Marion grew up in Scantic and was a graduate of Rockville High School. She was married to the love of her life, the late Harold R. Warner Jr., on January 1, 1938, and together they settled in Windsor.

Marion was a longtime member of Poquonock Community Church. She was a Girl Scout leader for over 30 years and enjoyed sewing, knitting and most especially quilting.

In their retirement Marion and her husband, of over 72 years, Harold, enjoyed bus trips.

A wonderful, kind, happy and considerate mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she will be greatly missed by all.

She leaves her sons, Richard Warner and his wife Dorothy of Bolton and Kenneth Warner of Hawaii, her daughter, Lois Warner of Windsor; her sisters, Ruth Breen of Goshen, VT and Gertrude Smith of Gulfport, FL; three grandchildren, David Warner of Vernon, Jeffrey Warner and his wife Hilary of Bow, NH and Jennifer Viot and her husband William of Bolton, a great-granddaughter, Emily Rose Viot; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Hazel Morell.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, from 9-10 a.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, followed by a funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will take place on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., in Scantic Cemetery, East Windsor.
