Della Peterson, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away on February 3, 2013 at Bonaventure Senior Living Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Della was born April 15, 1924, in Kaysville, Utah to Lawrence Wilford Bacon and Sarah Laveta Storer Bacon. She attended school at Eastside and Riverside Elementary and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. Della was a homemaker.

On June 22, 1942, she married Garren in the Salt Lake Temple. Della and Garren had five children. In later life they wintered in St. George, Utah. Garren passed away August 28, 2005.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Stake dance instructor, in the Stake Primary organization, in the Ward Primary, and served a mission to St. George.

She sang with the Idaho Falls Choralaires, made jewelry, enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and traveling the world.

Della is survived by
Daughter: Janis "Jan" Hill, of Idaho Falls, ID;
Daughter: Holly Bateman, of Etna, WY;
Daughter: Wendy (M. Roland) Howe, of Kirkland, WA;
Sister: Lois Packer, of Idaho Falls, ID;
Sister: Ann Blake, of Idaho Falls, ID;
Sister: Elaine (Blaine) Jones, of Pocatello, ID;
eleven grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons, Randall and Brett, and two sons-in-law, Robert "Bob" Hill and John D. Bateman.

Funeral services will be held on 11:00 am on Friday, February 8, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge). The family will visit with friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home prior to the service. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
