Elsie Ayers, 95, of Poplar Springs Road, died Monday
morning at Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Ayers was a homemaker.

She was a member of O&S United Methodist Church,
where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary

Mrs. Ayers family noted, "She was a farmer, mother,
grandma, great-grandma, great-great-grandma, and
loving friend to all.

She was the daughter of the late James A. and Sarah
Gregg Mooneyham and was the widow of Therian Ayers.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Jane
and Floyd Wooley of Pine Bluff, Ark., JoAnn and Johnny
Tweed of Greeneville, and Gail Ayers and William Jacobs of
Galveston, Texas; 13 grandchildren and their spouses:
Tammy and David Lancaster of the Caney Branch
community, Janet and Danny Pelton of Fayetteville, Ark.,
Patty and John Chandler of Chesapeake, Va., Dennie
Southerland of Pine Bluff, Jonathan and Kim Tweed of
Caney Branch, Julie and Wes Carter of Parrottsville, and
Blair and Amanda Linville, Lenox, Mass.; 24 great-
grandchildren and their spouses: Philip and Melissa
Thompson, Brandy and Roudy Henley, Justin Lilly, Daniel
and Sarah Pelton, Beau and Marcy Southerland, Brandon
Southerland, Stephen Southerland, Jessica Southerland,
Justin Southerland, Brent Southerland, Shane Southerland,
Jordan and Alex Chandler, Cameron and Hannah Tweed,
Brian Shelton, Grant Linville, Rebecca and Rodney Raines,
Jessica Lancaster; five great-great-grandchildren: Tara
and Wesley Thompson, Lillyan Henley, McKenzie
Southerland, and Brooke Raines; and number of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends

She was preceded in death by five brothers: Houston
Mooneyham, Walter Mooneyham, Glen Mooneyham, James
Mooneyham, and Harley Mooneyham; and six sisters:
Orphie Mooneyham, Susie Gregg, Cynthia Mooneyham,
Ann Ottinger, Emma Hawk, and Dorothy Rader.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday
at Kiser Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 o'clock in the
funeral home chapel. The Rev. Ricky Clowers, the Rev.
Kenneth Newman, and the Rev. Sam Smith will officiate.

An entombment will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday
afternoon in GreeneLawn Mausoleum.

Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 1:15
to go in procession to the mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Danny Pelton, Brandon Southerland,
Dennie Southerland, Blair Linville, Justin Lilly, and Beau
Southerland.
