Dennison J. McDonough, a pioneer of Eau Claire, died late Sunday afternoon of paralysis. Stricken the first time six years ago, Mr. McDonough was confined to his home ever since. However, his condition had not been alarming until last week when he suffered a severe stroke, and ... Sunday afternoon he peacefully breathed his last at his home, 1009 South River Street.
The funeral will be held Wednesday morning, with a requiem funeral mass at St. Patrick's Church ... Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery. It is requested that no flowers be sent either to the house or to the church.
The late Mr. McDonough was 72 years old, and is survived by his widow and a daughter, Mrs. Thorpe J. [Minnie] Wilcox, of this city. The late Frank and John McDonough of this city were brothers, and Mrs. John Horan was a sister.
Mr. McDonough was one of Eau Claire's best and most highly esteemed citizens. He was born at Ingersoll, Ontario, July 4, 1849, and came to Eau Claire in the early 1860s. He became identified with various business interests.
