Don Allen, 72 year old Council Hill resident, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 in Muskogee. He was born Sunday, June 16, 1940 to Cola Dodge and Docia (McCoy) Allen in Council Hill, Oklahoma. Don grew up in Council Hill, moved to Florida, finally settling in California where he graduated from Anaheim High School in 1958. After graduating from High School, he entered the Army joining the 82nd Airborne Division. Don met, fell in love and later married Doreen Ann Kleve on Saturday, December 2, 1961 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He delivered water softeners and later began working for Chromalloy where he traveled globally putting in water treatment plants. He later opened Allen Manufacturing, a machine welding shop and retired in 1980 at the age of 40. Don moved back to Council Hill where he bought his grandfather's farm and just enjoyed farming for the next twenty years. He was a lighthearted man who enjoyed drinking with friends and playing bass guitar. Don owned and operated two businesses, raced motorcycles, was a member of the fast draw gun club and was a member Elm Grove Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Doreen Ann Kleve Allen and brother Ralph Allen.
