Lois H. Orr, 80
Lois Hudgins Orr, 80, of Hendersonville passed away Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at the Elizabeth House.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, the daughter of the late James Hudgins and Floy Jackson Hudgins. She was the wife of Elmo S. Orr, who died in 1983. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Seymour. She was a graduate of the former Edneyville High School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville. She retired from the Postal Service in Mountain Home, where she worked alongside her husband.
She is survived by two sisters, Sarah Uhorchak and spouse, Wally, of Hendersonville and Phyllis Allen of Arden; her children, Gail Orr McKenzie and spouse, Steve, of Birmingham, Ala., Eric Orr and spouse, Janet, of Blowing Rock and Kathy Orr McSwain and spouse, Tom, of Sanford; nine grandchildren, Kate, Margaret and Christine McKenzie, Josh, Jake and Sarah Orr and Rebekah, Kelly and Abby McSwain.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Shepherd Memorial Park. Dr. Gordon Elliott will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service today at the home. Memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House, 511 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, N.C. 28731.
